There is not a more beautiful time to ride a motorcycle, then in the fall. The cool breeze hitting your face, the changing colors of the leaves, and the constant reminders of nature’s beauty all make riding in the fall a treat. No matter where you are in the United States, there is a must-see highway in the fall waiting for you.

This fall take off your waterproof motorcycle cover and hit the road for some of the most remarkable rides in the United States.

Beartooth Highway– Southwest Montana, Northwest Wyoming

The great Beartooth Highway is a great western destination for all bikers in the fall. Providing access to Yellowstone’s northeast entrance, the park is an entryway to the nation’s most beautiful parks.

The highway makes its way across a rough Beartooth mountain range and holds the title for the highest elevated highway in the northern Rocky Mountains. Beartooth is home to some stunning views, numerous outdoor recreation opportunities, and up-close and personal wildlife viewing.

This ride will be your best bet if you are riding in the Rocky Mountains region.

Tail of the Dragon (Deal’s Gap)– Tennessee, North Carolina

The Tail of the Dragon is a highway that never disappoints bikers from all over the United States. The very short eleven-mile stretch contains 318 curves that give US Highway 129 its name.

Tail of the Dragon is bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains, and the Cherokee National Forest giving bikers the ultimate scenery when riding this road. This highway is even featured in movies like The Fugitive, and Two-Lane Blacktop.

Tight turns, cold wind blowing on your face, and wildlife encounters are all things you can expect from this ride in the fall.

Blue Ridge Parkway– North Carolina, Virginia

The mid-October leaf change is a big reason the Blue Ridge Parkway hosts 15-million visitors every year. Traveling through mountains like Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River, will give bikers the most extraordinary views when winding through the Southern Appalachians.

The Blue Ridge Parkway offers riders a chance to go back in time to two-lane roads and slowing life down to just enjoy the views. On this ride, you will experience everything from Cherokee culture, to Southern Appalachian agriculture with lots of opportunities to entertain visitors.

The parkway is world renowned for their biodiversity and wildlife.

Tunnel of Trees– Coastal Michigan

The M-119 highway takes bikers across the coast of Lake Michigan giving them an opportunity to see beautiful fall foliage. The 20-mile stretch of road starts in Petoskey, Michigan and takes you through the tourist town of Harbor Springs.

This road weaves along the banks of Lake Michigan, with rich hardwoods aligning each side of the highway. The trees create a tree canopy giving bikers a chance to see the changing leaf colors, and beautiful waterfront views.

This short highway will bring bikers from the Midwest and beyond in the fall.

 Pacific Coast Highway– Oregon, California

A portion of State Route 1, along with the Pacific Coastline, is a beautiful place to ride in the fall. The Northwest United States provide great fall views among giant trees, next to beautiful coastline.

The drive takes five hours to complete and is considered a thrill-seeking road. No guard-rails are just one thing that creates a little danger for bikers. The steep cliffs, narrow shoulders, and steep drop-offs provide scenic bikers a little thrill as well.

This road also is not as crowded during the fall as it is during the peak months of July and August, which makes fall a great time to check this thrilling highway out.

 Skyline Drive– Virginia

Skyline Drive is one of the most photographed stretches of highways in the United States, and maybe even the world. This is no exception during the fall season. Skyline Drive runs for 105 miles north and south, along with the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the Shenandoah National Park.

The highway contains nearly 70 overlooks and keeps a strict 35 miles per hour, speed limit. Being in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the highway consists of lots of wildlife and beautifully colored leaves.

This road gives riders a chance to slow down and take in all of nature’s beauty.

Pig Trail Scenic Byway– Arkansas

What a better place to experience fall riding for bikers then the Pig Trail Scenic Byway. This byway was named the top motorcycle ride in the United States by the USA Today Readers’ Choice Poll.

The 24-mile ride takes you through the Arkansas River Valley’s world-class vineyards and beneath the cliffs of the rugged Ozark terrain. The road was named for two reasons. The first, being because the highway is the shortcut route to get to Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas football games.

The other reason is that the highway is as curvy as a pig’s tail. Regardless, the highway brings lush flora, and many tourist stops along the way and leads you all the way to the Missouri border.

Conclusion

After traveling these seven highways, your appreciation for our nation’s beauty will be restored. No better time of year does mother nature show off her good-looks then in the fall, and there is no better way to see that than on your bike. The crisp fall air and beautiful views make these rides legendary, but the only sights of each ride make each of these seven stops special for bikers all over the country. So, hit the road, and get to exploring this fall!

Buenos Aires is known as a city that never sleeps, and with good reason as this city has a fantastic nightlife. From the walks down beautiful lit streets to dancing passionate tango to relaxing in bars and clubs, everything you can want for is there. You’ll need to follow some simple safety rules on your night out in Buenos Aires. However, a tourist who takes reasonable precautions has little to fear in this amazing city at night.

4 Tips for an Unforgettable Night Out in Buenos Aires
1.      Start your night with a good dinner

If you plan on drinking when you explore many of the bars and clubs of Buenos Aires, you need to have a good meal before this. Be sure to eat something filling and with a healthy dose of fat in it. This will boost your resistance to alcohol and prevent you from feeling completely shattered in the morning.

The best places to get a delicious dinner for a reasonable price are:

Don Julio for the best steaks.
Santos Manjarez for excellent meat and wines as well as traditional Argentinian dishes.
Postiano Lirica for the Italian and Mediterranean cuisines and excellent entertainment.
Mi Coleccion de Vinos for incredible wines and great food from both Argentinian and International cuisines.

2.      Plan your route during the day

Buenos Aires is a huge city and it’s not a place you can wander through all night long. There are certain neighborhoods that are best avoided after dark and some others that simply have nothing to offer to a tourist.

Therefore, to get the most out of your adventure, you should plan your night out in Buenos Aires well in advance. You should start with memorizing the places you want to see lighted up in the evening as many of the city’s streets are stunning at night. You can make a list of those while exploring the city by day. The best way to do this is to take free walking tours in Buenos Aires. Those will take you to the main attractions and you can even talk to the guide about which areas you should revisit at night. This is also a good time to make a mental list of downtown bars and cafes you’d like to have a drink in.

3.      Use safe transport options only

Taxi is the safest way to get around on a night out in Buenos Aires. However, you need to be careful with taxis as well because some drivers might take advantage of inebriated tourists. If possible, ask your hotel to call a taxi for you. It’s always safer to call a car by phone or app which allows you to contact a legitimate taxi service than to catch a cab on the street.

Use the Vajo en Taxi service to calculate approximate cost of your ride so you aren’t overcharged. Some of the reliable taxi services in Buenos Aires are:

• Taxi Premium
 Easy Taxi

When hailing a cab in the street, look for Radio Taxi as they register all the vehicles.

4.      Dress like a local

Many people are tempted to ‘dress to impress’ while on a night out in Buenos Aires. But the safest option for a tourist everywhere is to stand out as little as possible. Fear not, people in Argentina like to dress up for a night of partying as well, so you’ll be able to wear some fancy clothes and fit in.

The smart thing to do is to forego flashy jewelry and keep your top-of-the-line smartphone in the hotel’s safe. Use a cheap phone so you can call a cab or make other important calls. You should also wear something that will allow you to conceal your wallet and keep it securely on your person at all times. Never forget that no matter which city you visit, if there are tourists, pickpockets will be nearby as well.

5 Things You Must Know Before Renting a Car in Ireland

Car renting in Ireland is one of the most preferred options by individuals who visit Ireland and choose to go to the island; renting a car means being able to freely visit locations, choose what to see and where to stop… CONTINUE READING >>

Car renting in Ireland is one of the most preferred options by individuals who visit Ireland and choose to go to the island; renting a car means being able to freely visit locations, choose what to see and where to stop, and completely have nothing to do with public transportation.

If you are also planning on embarking on a trip to this beautiful part of the world (Ireland) then you must check out these tips with relevant information on renting a car in Ireland.

Although Ireland is located on an island subjected to the wind and still a little bit rural, a good car is okay. You do not really need a SUVs (which are usually difficult to find) or vehicles with special gadgets. Ensure that the car you rent meets the size you want for your trip and also make sure it is suitable.

Be aware that in Ireland car owners are expected by law to drive on the left, a tip to take into serious consideration if you choose to opt for a car hire. Some tips include the following:

 AUTOMATIC / MANUAL GEARBOX

Most of the cars in Ireland are manually operated by a gear shift. All car rental businesses will have a low number of automatic cars available for rent. If you prefer renting an automatic vehicle, the best option will be to book on time in order to ensure availability.

There have been some cases when clients booked an automatic and found a manual vehicle at the curb. Automatic cars are often more expensive to hire compared to manual cars. If you can’t drive a manual vehicle, renting a car which has a manual gear shift is a bad idea as damage could be caused by the wrong use of the clutch.

CAR HIRE COMPANIES

It is important to visit the various websites of trusted car hire companies to compare their services as the deals of local and major car hire companies can be confusing. Most companies offer live support, online booking, and reservations agents by phone.

Nevertheless, ensure to carefully read the terms and conditions, as what is promoted and the terms and conditions can differ. Car rental services in Ireland are offered by many companies, but finding the right company is all that counts.

CAREFULLY READ THE CONTRACT

To fully understand what are your obligations and rights, always go through the contract carefully. Do not hesitate to ask questions in areas you may not be clear. Do not sign the rental papers unless you are fully clear about its various contents and happy with its terms and conditions.

It is also crucial to personally inspect the car for damaged parts because these parts can be very expensive. Pay good attention to all that is written on the contract.

RENTAL CAR INSURANCE IN IRELAND

While having good compare car insurance quotes is an additional cost, it offers rest of mind to individuals who prefer driving only rented cars.  Car insurance Ireland prevents you from losing cash if the car gets written off or stolen.

Getting insurance online for a rented car is a good idea if you wish to save money and time. The advantage of getting the rented car insured online is that you will compare car insurance quotes quickly directly from the insurers even without calling each company and continuously providing the same particulars over the phone.  You can compare car insurance quotes quickly that you are likely to find the most incurable policy and save up more resources.

FILL A CAR RENTAL DAMAGE CHECK SHEET

Before renting a car in Ireland, be sure to get a staff of that rental company to check for any damage that may happen to be on the car. Also, you should repeat the same procedure after dropping the car off to make sure that no damage happened while you were in possession of the car and to prevent paying extra.

Ask for a diagram or a checklist for the present exterior damage before completing the rental. If not, create your own personal list and have it stamped or signed. This can help you in paying additional expenses for damage. Ensure that the car’s parts such as the tires, lights, windscreen, and air-conditioning are all in perfect shape before setting off.

Why Should I hire a Lawyer in Clearwater before Charges Are Filed?

The age-old advice maintains that if you are in a situation where you ask “do I need a lawyer?” the answer is almost always “yes.” CONTINUE READING >>

The age-old advice maintains that if you are in a situation where you ask “do I need a lawyer?” the answer is almost always “yes.” The reasons for this are numerous, yet the justification for the expense and effort required to make the right decision when it comes to retaining counsel, especially if you are facing criminal charges, can be a challenge, especially for someone who is unfamiliar with the justice system.

The fact is criminal justice has a set of rules, both written and unwritten, that will determine your success in navigating your case. Few of these rules turn on your guilt or innocence and even fewer turn on the evidence you develop during your case or the evidence you present at trial. Generally speaking, the only way to learn these rules is to lose a case, or to lose several cases. That’s something an attorney can afford to do. You can’t. You don’t get a practice swing. If you are facing potential criminal charges in a place like Clearwater, Florida, for example, here are some things you should consider before the charges are filed.

The Silver Rule

If the golden rule is “do unto others,” an attorney like William Hanlon Criminal Lawyer in Clearwater FL will tell you the silver rule is “remain silent and let me do the talking.” The very fastest route to a criminal record goes directly through a police interrogation room, where you have no advantages and the police and prosecutor have every advantage. They can lie to you. They can threaten you with all manner of charges and penalties, even if they know they can’t even get to trial with them. They can even tell you you’re not a suspect, or tell you they have evidence when they don’t.

Your only defense is to be absent for your interrogation, remain silent and ask for an attorney. The Sixth Amendment was written precisely for situations like this, because it is very easy for you to ensnare yourself in a criminal taffy wad even if you can prove your innocence with live video filmed by a federal judge with the president of the United States holding the boom microphone.

The Elements of the Case

Your attorney knows what the prosecution must prove in order to convict you. The average criminal defendant has no idea what the “elements” of a crime are, and even less of an idea what is necessary to prove them beyond a reasonable doubt. Many defense attorneys can persuade a prosecutor to withhold filing their case or to drop it altogether by convincing them they don’t have enough evidence to prove the charges.

There is a big wide-open space between probable cause, which is the threshold for search warrants and Grand Jury indictments, and getting twelve jurors to conclude the prosecution has established proof beyond a reasonable doubt a defendant fulfills the elements of a criminal act. This is one of the key reasons most federal criminal cases never get to a courtroom. The average U.S. Attorney usually has a much easier time pleading a defendant than proving their case.

Discovery

By law, the prosecution must divulge the evidence they plan to use at trial prior to opening statements. Once your attorney gets a look at said evidence, they may find enough flaws to sustain a motion to dismiss, which means you may escape prosecution entirely, at least until the police and district attorney develop a stronger set of facts. A person untrained in the law has no chance of drafting a successful motion to dismiss on their own, even with the help of the legal aid services or a paralegal. Defense attorneys know what buttons to push when they confront a prosecutor. That requires experience and knowledge of those unwritten rules.

Criminal defense is an arcane and widely misunderstood profession. It can’t be successfully navigated by amateurs. If you anticipate criminal charges, your top priority must be to retain counsel and prepare a competent defense. Anything less invites disaster.

INTERESTING AND REMARKABLE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MYKONOS

Mykonos is well known to the world as a luxurious summer destination and a wild parties Mecca. But while searching for your Mykonos Villa, there are also some other remarkable things you may want to know before visiting the island. Here are some interesting facts about Mykonos, for those who wish to know better the places they visit.

Geographically Mykonos is small

Mykonos belongs to Cyclades island complex, located in the Aegean Sea, at the eastern part of Greece. Although Mykonos is famous, it is in fact a small island of 85.5 square kilometers or 33 square miles. The number of its permanent inhabitants is around 12,000 and most of them live in Anw Mera, the capital of Mykonos.

Although it is a small island, it has more than 30 beaches. At the southern coast you will find the most spacious, sandy and organized beaches, which are protected from the winds by rocky hills around them. The northern shoreline is more rocky and wild.

Mykonos has no rivers or mountains. Its highest point is Profitis Elias Vorniotis, at a hight of 371 m. There are two artificial lakes near Panormos, which cover Mykonos needs in water.

Mykonos has more history than you can imagine

According to the archeological findings in Mykonos, its first inhabitants were the tribe of Kares at around 3.000 B.C. Around 11th century B.C., Ionians from Athens settled on Mykonos, throwing out the previous inhabitants.

Mykonos became a part of the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire afterwards, until the 12th century. Then Mykonos was occupied by Venetians and Ottomans, until 1821 when the Greek revolution took place. Mykonos played a significant role in the revolution against the Turks and great heroes, like Manto Mavrogenous, were born and fighting here.

Mykonos became officially Greek the first day the Greek State was formed, in 1830. Slowly, the island flourished again as a trading and sailing center. The first archeological findings in Delos at 1873 drew some international attention and tourists but World War 1 and 2 came to stop the development of the island.

During the 50’s, Mykonos natural, virgin beauties started attracting the rich and famous from all over the world, making it a favorite destination for thousands of tourists each year. You can learn and see more about Mykonos history by visiting the many museums on the island and the archeological site on Delos.

There are more churches in Mykonos than there are days in the year

There are literally more than 600 monasteries, churches and small chapels on the island – as the locals say “one church for each day of the year”. Just in Chora you can find more than 60 churches.

The reason for the high number of churches on the island is mainly the local tradition that a family should build a shrine to keep the bones of their dead.

Some of the most visited churches in Chora are Panagia Paraportiani, Agia Kyriaki, The Catholic church of Panagia of the Rosario and Agios Nikolaos at the Old Port.

Mykonos is home to some of the most beautiful diving sites

Mykonos sea waters are clean and in the bottom of the sea you can find a lot of plants, fish and sea animals. Its most beautiful diving areas are 3:

Barracuda Reef at Kalafakiona. The depth is around 20 meters, making it accessible for less experienced divers. You can see some Barracudas here among other species. There are also a lot of archeological findings, especially pottery, in bigger or smaller pieces.

Caverns at Tragonisi. A beautiful complex of underwater caves, home of the unique Yellow Sea Anemone. There is also a special dive at “Seal Cave” where you have the opportunity to meet a Monachus Monachus Seal.

The Wreck of “Anna II” near Lia beach. The cargo ship sunk in 1995 and was 60 meters long.

Many popular movies have been filmed in Mykonos

The picturesque landscape, the unique sunset, the famous Little Venice and the Windmills, sometimes even Luxury Villas in Mykonos, make the island a perfect background for filming. In fact some popular movies and TV series have been partially or totally filmed at Mykonos.

The most famous movie was “Shirley Valentine”, by Paramount Pictures in 1989, which was filmed at the beautiful beach of Agios Ioannis. Other movies that were filmed in Mykonos are “Kamaki” in 2005, “The Greek Tycoon” in 1978, “The Bourne Identity” in 2002 and “The Kings of Mykonos” in 2010.

4 Reasons to Visit Vail, Colorado in the Fall

Don’t let the popularity of the luxurious ski season in Vail convince you that the fall season is not equally enjoyable. There are many things tourists don’t know about Vail in the fall… CONTINUE READING >>

There are endless reasons why you should visit Vail during the fall season. Don’t let the popularity of the luxurious ski season in Vail convince you that the fall season is not equally enjoyable. There are many things tourists don’t know about Vail in the fall.

Luxury Hotel Stays

Some of the best hotels in the Rocky Mountains are in Vail. Most hotels are in Vail Village or the newer Lionshead district. Generally, families prefer Lionshead, while couples prefer Vail Village. However, if you want to stay in either of these parts of Vail during the winter season, you’d have to reserve them months in advance. In the fall, accommodation in Vail is affordable and has many vacancies.

Vail Village is more quaint with true authenticity, local shops, and delicious food. Lionshead is more luxurious with chain hotels and a more central location. Where you stay depends greatly on who you are traveling with and what your itinerary is.

Delicious Restaurants

From luxury fine dining to cheap mountain eats, Vail has a joint for everybody. Whether you’re looking for a moderately priced pork shank from Almresi Restaurant, fine dining at Game Creek Club, or local cuisine from the Little Diner, Vail has a restaurant for every budget. Vail Village tends to be the best place to find food of any variety.

You’ll notice a busier restaurant crowd in the winter time. Even in the summer, restaurants in Vail Village will sometimes require reservations. This is not the case in the fall.

Beautiful Nature and Parks

Image via Flickr by Hawthorne Ave

Vail has some of the most stunning parks and natural attractions in the United States. One does not have to look hard to find some of the purest beauty the human eye can witness.

Booth Falls Trail winds through gorgeous mountain scenery. In the late fall, you may even get to see snow on the mountain peaks.

Shrine Mountain Trail is often overlooked while in Vail but can be equally beautiful. If you’ve picked a good year, you will still see colorful wildflowers around every tree. However, the peace of the less-traveled trail is incredible, regardless.

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are a must. This display is a nice way to spend an hour or two of free time.

In the fall, the leaves start to change colors and the mountains turn colors you have never seen in person.

Beautiful Weather

Fall in Vail is one of the loveliest times of the year. The cool mountain air is as refreshing as it gets all year. Expect temperatures around 65 degrees from September to early November.

Everybody knows about Vail’s immaculate skiing weather during the winter, but fall can be even more beautiful. Summer crowds will be long gone, and you’ll have low hotel rates all to yourself. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to catch some of the early ski season in the fall.

No matter when you go, Vail is an excellent vacation destination. However, for those trying to avoid the crowds and steep tourist prices, the fall is the best time for a visit. It’s a beautiful mountain town that you have to see to believe. Once you go, you’re sure to return again.

3 Things to Know Before Visiting Long Island

From New England or New York, by train, plane, or automobile, Long Island is the strong island when it comes to access and options…

Anyone traveling to Long Island by car needs to know the three letters that will demand your attention during your visit: L-I-E. They stand for the Long Island Expressway, otherwise known as Interstate 495 and the artery that carries the lifeblood of this region.

You should treat the Long Island Expressway with respect. It can whisk you off to your destination or stop you cold with bumper-to-bumper traffic. But before you begin your journey, here are three things to know as you head to the island.

Take a Car Trip Via Interstate 495

Under the proper circumstances, Interstate 495 can take you from one end of Long Island to the other. It offers entry points to just about everywhere in between. Avoid it during the morning and evening rush hours. In addition, steer clear of it entirely on any Friday or Sunday evening during the summer.

Seven bridges and two tunnels will get you out of New York City and heading in the proper direction for Nassau and Suffolk counties. From either way, you can reach the eastern tip of Long Island, home of the Hamptons, Shelter Island, and the North and South Forks.

As an alternate method, ferries may increase your travel time, but they are likely to reduce your stress and anxiety. Long Island is served by a pair of year-round ferries that span the Long Island Sound, connecting Port Jefferson to Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Orient Point to New London, Connecticut.

Choose the Scenic Route With Long Island Rail Road

Image via Flickr by Emmanuel Nicolas Transit Photography

More than just a means to an end for commuters, the Long Island Rail Road can also provide a relaxing and scenic opportunity to enjoy Long Island from a unique vantage point as you stay off the Long Island Expressway.

If you are visiting Long Island from a galaxy far, far away, JFK and LaGuardia airports are both located in Queens. Not to be overlooked is Long Island MacArthur Airport, a public aviation facility in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County. Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Frontier Airlines fly out of MacArthur Airport, which is located 50 miles east of Manhattan.

Explore the Scenery, Enjoy the Entertainment

Once you arrive at your destination, you can unwind and relax by enjoying a range of offerings, beginning with your accommodations. Many visitors will want to take advantage of staying in hotels close to beaches, cultural attractions, and entertainment.

Jones Beach in Wantagh offers the sand, the surf, and live music by national headliners, while the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett hosts bands just a short drive from the Hamptons.

The Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island offers walking paths through more than 2,000 acres of lush plant and animal habitats. Belmont Park in Elmont, which hosts the final leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown, has been a destination for the sports world for more than a century.

Yet more ferries, from Patchogue and Sayville, will take you from Long Island proper to Fire Island National Seashore for a day of exploration and opportunity for stunning photography. Once on the “island with no roads,” you can enjoy 26 miles of high dunes, maritime forests, and desolate beaches.

From New England or New York, by train, plane, or automobile, Long Island is the strong island when it comes to access and options.
