1. Intentional Breathing

Breath is the most important thing for our physical and mental health. It is something that we take for granted and don’t think about until we are in a situation where we are not getting enough air. It is so important to be mindful of the breath and to pay attention to it.

Intentional breathing can be used for many different things, including relaxation, anxiety management, stress reduction, pain relief, depression management, anger management, addiction recovery, and weight loss.

2. Physical Activity

Physical activity is a great way to relieve stress and improve your mood.

Studies show that physical activity can reduce anxiety, and depression, and even improve cognitive function.

It can also help with sleep quality, weight control, and cardiovascular health.

Exercise can also help with managing chronic conditions like arthritis or diabetes. In the long term, it’s been shown to increase life expectancy by three years.

Physical activity has been shown to be an effective treatment for many mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety disorders.

3. Use CBD Daily

CBD is a natural supplement that is not psychoactive and does not produce any kind of high. It is extracted from the cannabis plant and has been found to have a number of health benefits.

It can be used for mental wellness, pain relief, as an anti-inflammatory, and to reduce seizures.

One way to practice self-care is by doing activities that make you feel good, such as taking a bath or going on a walk. You can even dedicate a whole night in order to taking care of yourself, by cooking some good food, reading a book, and having a glass of wine.

How To Get Plenty Of Downtime Year Round

Leisure activities are not just for the summer; they are for all year round. We all lead busy lifestyles, and it is important to recognize that you deserve and need breaks from time to time. You will experience burnout and fatigue if you push through your hectic lifestyle without breaks and rest.

If you are someone that is quite hard on yourself and rarely gives yourself time to rest and unwind, you have come to the right place. This guide will share excellent ways to ensure you get plenty of downtimes and give yourself some much-needed TLC throughout the year.

Do the things you love on a regular basis

We often allow our lives and busy schedules to get the better of us. It is common for busy people to commit their time and energy to tasks that drain them. You do still need to commit and finish work tasks. However, committing your energy to switch off is just as important.

If there is something you know you love to do, ensure to make time for it regularly. You will know how good it makes to feel to achieve and do these things, so making time will guarantee to increase your happiness and self-love.

For example, you might enjoy going for long walks or using THC products to help you wind down. If so, make time for these things throughout the week to get to do something that makes you feel your best.

You can look online to Buy Delta 9 Products to make purchasing your favorite pastime convenient. You won’t have to head out to find it in the stores. Instead, you can select your products and deliver them straight to your door.

Make time for it and write it down

Another great way to ensure you get enough rest is to make time for it. We can easily let our lives get busy and too hectic for downtime. We might sometimes forget we need a break because we have so much to do. Therefore, to ensure you get plenty of rest year round and not be go, go, go, you must make time for your relaxation.

The best way to achieve this and guarantee you do not miss out on your breaks is to schedule in downtime. For instance, you might have a work planner often filled with tasks and commitments. Here, you will not necessarily think to schedule breaks. However, what you write down is what you set out to achieve. Therefore, if you write down to have a break at 10 am and 2 pm, you will likely commit to the task and, as a result, get plenty of rest throughout the day.

The same can go for other types of breaks, such as switching off at the weekend, taking a holiday from work, or having a break from your exercise routine. Schedule whatever break you feel you want or need, and make time for it, so you do not forget or lack care.

Take deep breaths

Sometimes, the best way to know if you need a break or time to switch off is to practice deep breathing. We might feel like we are moving at a million miles an hour, and you won’t recognize how stressed or tired you are until we slow down and breathe.

Deep breathing has amazing benefits for unwinding and de-stressing. It is a great way to slow down our heartbeat and tune into our bodies.

Sitting for 5 minutes during your lunch break at work and breathing slowly will help you unwind and notice what it is you need to relax.

Deep breathing is a great exercise to practice when you wake up and go to sleep. It allows the brain and body to slow down and recognize it is time to take a break. You should also consider practicing deep breaths before you partake in a mindful activity, such as yoga or meditation, so your body can prepare for rest and relaxation.

Move more

Moving more might sound counterproductive for getting enough rest. However, it is a smart way to tune into your body, loosen any tension, and help you rest better at night.

If you do not get enough movement, you might find yourself fidgeting while working (which is a huge distraction) or not being able to sleep. Getting 30 minutes of exercise daily is enough to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and attain relaxation benefits.

Some movements can be considered relaxing. For instance, it is common to practice yoga, pilates, or walking to switch off and relax. The slow and gentle movements are mindful enough to ensure your body and mind slow down so you can switch off from a busy schedule and into your body.

Long and short breaks

Throughout the year, you should ensure a healthy mixture of long and short breaks. There is no use going full steam ahead every day for 4 months before you can take time off for a holiday. By the time you reach the holiday, you will be so exhausted that you might not be able to enjoy it properly.

Therefore, making time for long and short breaks throughout the year is helpful to help you wind down and maintain focus.

A short break could be considered a regular 10-minute break during your workday. Instead of sitting in front of your computer for 9 hours a day, getting up, walking around, and going outside for fresh air will help to reset your mind and allow you to avoid burnout.

Whether or not you have the time or money to take a long break, you should always do so. If you continue to work throughout the year without a few days off, you might get easily frustrated, lose motivation, and lack the energy for your lifestyle. A few days away from your commitments could be all it takes to keep you inspired and energized, which is the recipe for success.

Going on a Vacation? Keep your House Safe with These Tips

A break-in or an intrusion will likely occur when your home is empty. While the thought of this can be scary, you can do a few things to keep your home safe even while you are many continents away.

From installing security cameras and closing all entry points to removing spare keys from hiding spots and keeping your absence off social media, these tricks will ward off potential intruders and burglars, thus keeping your home and its properties safe.

1. Don’t just lock sliding doors.

While locking your sliding doors may seem like the best thing to do when traveling, you should also try to reinforce its base. You can do this with a broom, yardstick, or other blocks.

Do you have sliding windows as well? Do the same. Reinforce their base to protect your home from possible intruders.

2. Ask a neighbor to collect mail and packages.

Most break-ins happen when homeowners aren’t at home. To determine whether you are indoors, potential intruders often search for signs like an overflowing mailbox or package-littered front porch.

We recommend asking a trusted friend to pick up and hold your mail and packages until your return to conceal the fact that you aren’t home.

3. Check doors and windows.

You must carry out comprehensive checks to ensure that all entry points are locked before leaving. Check the doors and out-of-the-way windows before traveling. Your kid may have opened the basement window and forgotten to lock it a few weeks back.

Checking all entry points in your home will make it hard for burglars to access your apartment. Plus, it’ll also keep the pests away, thus ensuring you don’t return to a home messed up by all sorts of pests.

However, if you do, don’t hesitate to contact expert pest control services. The expert pest control services from Terminix can help inspect your home for pests and eliminate any if they exist. They deal in all kinds of pests from roaches to spiders, rats, mice, etc.

4. Make it appear like someone is indoors.

As we mentioned, burglars are less likely to invade an occupied home. To make it seem like you are indoors, set timers to switch on and off your lights throughout the day and night.

You can also choose to leave one or two visible lights on when leaving. Plus, leave a car parked in a driveway to make it appear like someone is inside.

5. Don’t announce your absence.

Before traveling on a vacation, business trip, or a mere visit, try to keep your intention to a few trusted friends and family members. Don’t announce your absence to your neighbors, the stranger by the walkway, the plumber who came to fix your leaking faucet, etc.

By announcing your departure or absence, you inform potential trespassers exactly when your home will be empty. Don’t post about your absence until you return home.

6. Remove your spare key.

Is there a special place where you hide your spare key to give visitors or other occupants access? If so, you may want to remove it before traveling.

Whether under a flowerpot, above a door frame, or underneath a foot mat, keeping your spare keys in these areas while traveling isn’t safe. Imagine what happens if a criminal finds it. What would be of your possessions?

To avoid giving intruders free access to your home, we recommend removing spare keys before leaving. You can keep it with a trusted neighbor if you expect a visitor.

7. Unplug all appliances.

Since you are away, it makes sense to unplug all appliances, especially non-timed ones like TVs, coffee makers, lamps, etc. Plus, ensure that your smoke alarm is in good condition. And have a fire extinguisher available should a house sitter needs to put off a blaze.

Unplugging all appliances before traveling will reduce the chances of electrical fires or power surges. However, disasters tend to occur regardless of how one prepares, so you may want to consider buying homeowners’ or renters’ insurance.

8. Reach out to your alarm company.

One of the best ways to protect your home in your absence is by installing smart alarm systems in your home. Doing this won’t only protect your home from break-ins, but it’ll also give you peace of mind. Plus, with this security gadget installed in your home, you could qualify for an additional discount on homeowners insurance.

If you don’t have an alarm system, you can fool burglars by hanging dummy security company signs. And if you want to scare burglars more, install dummy security cameras. But, whatever you do, ensure you have something that helps ward off burglars, regardless of if it’s real or not.

Conclusion

Break-ins, burglaries, and all sorts of home invasions can be prevented if you stay cautious and take the proper steps. While these tips are effective in protecting your home, don’t hesitate to contact the police if you notice any strange signs when you return from your vacation.

4 of the Best North American Nature Reserves

President Theodore Roosevelt was a visionary leader, understanding the importance of preserving our natural resources, especially for wildlife conservation. Since the establishment of Florida’s Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge in 1903, the USFWS has continued on his legacy with the 560 units in the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Across all 50 states, these refuges offer an incredible 150 million acres of essential habitat to thousands of species, many threatened or endangered. These lands not only protect and in some cases even restore biodiversity, but they are huge economic drivers that draw tens of millions of visitors each year and create billions of dollars across local communities- and 20 million acres are even designated as part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. Always remember to take out International health insurance.

North America is a land of majestic beauty, its unique and diverse geography providing a breathtaking array of wildlife and nature reserves unrivaled by any other continent. Across the Atlantic lies a continent that offers an unparalleled range of natural sights – from the wildest rivers to enchanting deserts, to snow-capped mountains, lush forests and deep ravines.

Every single one of these environmental offerings is spectacular in its own way, with its own special beauty to explore. North America’s natural resources are a gift, and they deserve to be taken advantage of; packing up your bags, get your walking shoes and taking a flight across the Atlantic is the perfect opportunity to experience this part of the world like never before.

YOSEMITE, CALIFORNIA

Yosemite National Park in California is a stunning display of natural beauty. With majestic mountains, mesmerizing glaciers, plummeting waterfalls and an endless variety of flora and fauna, it’s no wonder that Americans call this truly spectacular park “the jewel in the crown of all national parks”.

YELLOWSTONE, WYOMING

Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming was the first of its kind to be established with protected status in 1872 and hosts a plethora of geysers and diverse wildlife.

OLYMPIC, WASHINGTON

Olympic National Park in Washington boasts three distinct ecosystems: temperate rainforest, sub-alpine woodland full of wildflowers, and the rugged Pacific coast. A highlight includes the unique Kalaloch tree which grows horizontally rather than vertically amidst the coastal scenery.

BANFF NATIONAL PARK, ALBERTA

While Canada is an unparalleled destination for nature-lovers, Banff National Park in Alberta and Mount Revelstoke National Park in British Columbia offer unique experiences that shouldn’t be missed. In Banff, travelers will find plenty of paths and trails perfect for solitude. The sweeping vistas, alpine peaks, and abundant wildlife make exploring the park a treat.

MOUNT REVELSTOKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Meanwhile, seekers of stunning landscapes plus history and culture can look to Mt Revelstoke. Easy hikes take visitors through meadows blanketed by wildflowers, which promise the classic ‘Sound of Music’ feeling with postcard-worthy views of expansive mountains. Whether you’re seeking respite or breathtaking moments, Canada’s national parks will not disappoint.

5 Tips to Moving to Maui in 2023

Maybe you have gone to Maui once or twice as a tourist and might want to live there. Well if you are considering moving here are a few tips…

Maui is an island in Hawaii known for its beautiful beaches and tourist attractions. It has beautiful scenery and there are plenty of activities that you can take part in such as windsurfing, snorkeling, and kitesurfing.

You may have been a tourist there and were drawn to its tropical vibes, and now you want to move. Well, here are tips for moving to Maui in 2023.

1. Visit The Place as A Non-Tourist

Maybe you have gone to Maui once or twice as a tourist. However, if you are considering moving there, you should go and live as a non-tourist for a while before you move. Do what you would normally do if you were at home where you currently live. Doing so will allow you the opportunity to experience the island as a local and give you the chance to test things out. Living in a place is much different than being a tourist.

You can rent out a place for the duration, shop as if you are a resident, go to the farmers market, cook as you normally do it at home, and do all the ordinary things you do while at home. This is not the time to go for tourist activities, especially if you don’t do them, since you are not vacationing.

You will experience how it is to live in Maui on a normal day.

2. What To Carry

Once you decide you want to move to Maui, then you can decide on what to carry. Do you move with your furniture and car or do you only carry your suitcase?

How much you carry will determine how much it will cost you to move. If you are only carrying your bags, it will cost you the airline ticket and maybe the excess luggage.

However, if you decide to move with your household items, then it can get expensive. Larger items such as furniture will need to be shipped while you can mail smaller items.

Because of the high shipping cost, it is advisable to sell your household items, and buy new ones in Maui.

3. Move With Your Car

If your car has low mileage and doesn’t need to be replaced soon, you should move to Maui with it. This is cheaper than selling your car and buying another one in Maui.

Remember that gas is expensive on the island, so a high-consumption car may not be ideal.

The shipping cost depends on the car type and distance from the port.

Have the car documents in place such as its title and the current vehicle registration. Also, you can transfer your driver’s license to Maui.

4. To Rent or Own

Will you buy or rent a place? This depends on your finances and long-term goals. Do you intend to stay in Maui for a long time or might you go back to the mainland? Do you have enough money to buy a place?

Maui is considered expensive and this includes homes. Buying or renting is more expensive in Maui than on the mainland.

Luckily, if you are moving with only your bags, you can start off by renting a furnished home, studying the island, and then deciding where to buy a home.

Fortunately, Maui Resort Realty can help you to find your dream home.

5. Have Some Savings

You may not find a job right away after you move to Maui. Therefore, you should have saved enough money to last you six months.

Also, the island has fewer jobs in comparison to Oahu and the Island of Hawaii, which have a higher population. Therefore, it may take a while before you get a job.

Given the high cost of living, you might need a second job to make ends meet.

How To Pick The Right Ski Resort

When it comes to booking a ski holiday, you could be forgiven for assuming that all ski resorts are one and the same. In fact, the reality is that every ski resort offers something different, and some are more suitable for certain types of holidays than others.

There are thousands of ski resorts all over the world, so it’s not surprise that there are various differences between them. Picking the right resort for your skiing trip is far more important than you may initially expect, with your choice having the power to make or break your vacation. If you’re thinking of booking a skiing holiday but unsure where to begin when choosing a resort, we’ve got you covered. Keep reading to find out more.

Where Do You Want To Go?

There are thousands of ski resorts in Europe alone, so when it comes time to pick one it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Take a step back and ask yourself – where do you want to go? Have you always dreamed of a romantic getaway in a French ski lodge? Or do you want to pit yourself against the tricky slopes in Austria?

You’ll need to keep travelling in mind as well. How easily can you get to a particular area? The skiing season can get incredibly busy and travel options can be snapped up quickly. You’ll need to come to a decision in plenty of time to ensure you are able to actually get there.

Once you have settled on your dream destination, you can start drawing up a list of the resorts in that area. Check out pistepro.com, there’ll you’ll find a comprehensive list of ski resort locations from all over the world, and you’ll have access to details and insights on each of them.

How Experienced Are You?

Skiing is undeniably fun, but it can also be very difficult. If you were to bite off more than you could chew and attempt a course that was beyond your ability level, your day could be over quickly. Worse, you could end up seriously injuring yourself.

Every ski resort will have slopes that offer varying degrees of difficulty. This is where research is vital, you’ll need to carefully assess your ability and the skills of the rest of your party before booking a ski resort. The last thing you want is for you to arrive only to discover that none of you are at the required skill level to tackle the trails.

What Kind Of Holiday Are You Looking For?

Skiing might seem like an idyllic getaway that is perfect for couples or families with young children. That is certainly the case, but certain ski resorts are known as notorious party locations, with young people flocking to them every winter to experience the thrill of skiing and partying all at once.

If you’re looking for a peaceful trip filled with leisurely skiing and relaxing evenings by the fireplace, you’d be advised to avoid some of the more raucous party destinations. Similarly, if you’re a group of young people looking to ski during the day then dance the night away, some of the more family-oriented resorts might not be suitable.

Again, this is where research comes in. Make sure you know what kind of atmosphere a resort offers before you book it, or you could find your holiday turns out slightly different that you had planned.

Conclusion

Booking a skiing holiday can seem like a lot of work. From the travel, the equipment, the training, there’s a lot that needs to be considered. However, your effort will certainly pay off. A skiing trip is truly one of the finest getaways you can have.
