Our South American live-blog continues with a week sailing in The Galápagos Islands!
We are absolutely IN LOVE with the animals here – unbelievably friendly and so fun to photograph. The terrain is wild and the snorkeling unforgettable (and we’ve got underwater video!).

This is one of my favorite shots! The animals are so friendly in the Galapagos, including when in flight – the expressions on these guys’ faces are priceless as this frigate comes in for a closer look. I think I was the only one who remembered I had a camera!
In The Galapagos, thousands of Marine Iguanas make an evening pilgrimage to Fernandina Island to worship the sun. Veronica, unable to believe her eyes, and mesmerized by the iguanas’ lack of fear of human nearness, simply laid down and joined in the surreal ceremony.
One of the highlights of my life (so far!) was the time I spent with this little sea lion in The Galapagos. He was every bit as curious of me as I was of him!
