Costa Rica – a surfer’s paradise
Costa Rica is an ideal location for watersports enthusiasts. The country is known for its many prime surfing spots, as well as the pristine, clear waters, ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling. Others enjoy the (sometimes) smoother rides of kayaking and rafting, or the tranquillity of paddleboarding.
For those considering a vacation with boat rental Costa Rica is one of the most stunning watersport destinations in the world. A boat rental lets you sit back and enjoy the stunning views of natural lakes like Lake Arenal.
Why did Paul Saladino move to Costa Rica?
Paul Saladino first made waves in the nutrition and fitness worlds as one of the main exponents of a carnivore diet – that is, a diet of solely animal products (often largely meat). The author has since expanded his diet to include fruit and some easier to digest vegetables, and also eats honey as a carnivore food.
Saladino recently moved to a small town in Costa Rica, and Saladino said, “The idea of 85-degree water was very appealing to me. So I came here to Santa Teresa with the intention of staying here for about eight days. Eight days quickly turned into weeks, which quickly turned into a month, and then two months.”
Now Saladino is a permanent resident. He loves the sun, warm water, and slower pace of life. It was a chance for him to “slow down”. Saladino says, “There’s really no concept of being indoors in Costa Rica” and enjoys an open-air house. Costa Rica offers Saladino a chance to “live closer to what I believe a human is supposed to live like.”
Sun, vitamin D, and fresh air
Saladino has fallen in love with Costa Rica’s outdoor lifestyle and sees his new residence as a place to reap health benefits, as well as enjoy surfing every day.
We’ve forgotten where we come from. We’ve forgotten that as humans, we’re meant to have robust immune systems when we live well, when we’re actually in the sun, breathing fresh air; when we have adequate vitamin D from ultraviolet light being outdoors.”
What does Saladino eat now?
Saladino said that after he’s done surfing, he comes back and eats “a steak, some liver, and some desiccated organ supplements”.
He’s encouraged people to eat organic fruit such as berries, melon, and citrus fruits, and has regularly championed raw honey. Saladino’s preferred vegetables include squash and zucchini, which are easier to digest than some other vegetables. Saladino has advised avoiding grains and legumes. He has regularly talked about antinutrients in these foods.
One commenter on Saladino’s “Controversial Thoughts: Why I live in Costa Rica” video said, “Absolutely hilarious that this video opened with an ad for plant based snacks”. Another joked, after hearing Saladino’s plans to get Lasik eye surgery so his eyes can get more sun (he wears contact lenses), “Lassik [sic] is not evolutionarily consistent…”
Either way, Saladino has left life in the States behind to surf the waves of Costa Rica, enjoy an outdoors life, and soak up the sun.
I am genuinely keen of reading this website’s post. It carries pleasant stuff.
Thank you for being such a positive influence in the online community.
