Tips to Travel the World from an RV

In recent times, the number of people who are newly embracing the idea of living and traveling in non-traditional homes, such as vans and RVs has increased significantly. While this is not particularly a new trend, it used to be more common amongst people looking for a cheaper way to enjoy family vacations and empty nesters or retirees looking to tour the world. But today, a simple search of the hashtag ‘Vanlife’ will reveal people from different walks of life who are suddenly embracing the lifestyle. If you’re en route to joining the bandwagon, here are 4 tips to get started.

1. Choose an RV

Buying an RV can be expensive and the wrong one will only drain you further while it depreciates. There are certain things you should consider before buying an RV, like how often you intend to travel, choice of travel companions, and where you’ll be heading.

When it comes to flexibility, smaller RVs are the best choice because you can maneuver through tight spots, unlike larger RVs that are quite limiting in terms of where you can drive them to.

Despite this, the fact still remains that larger RVs are more comfortable for extended travels.

Regardless of where you want to go, the trick is not to invest heavily in your first RV. Start by getting yourself a used because it will help you determine what you ultimately need.

2. Be a Minimalist

While there are many exciting reasons to live and travel in an RV, it is important to note that RV life is not ideally a vacation. It’s easy to think that you need a large and comfortable RV to start their travels. But for the most part, it’s much better to have a small space because you get to keep only a few essentials. There is no need to buy a ton of gadgets or take a truckload of things with you. At the end of the day, you’ll need a lot less than you can imagine, especially if you are flexible, adaptable, and resourceful.

3. Take It Slow

We get it, your excitement is off the charts and difficult to contain. You are probably already fantasizing about all the sights you’re going to see and places you want to visit in your new mobile abode. That’s Okay. Regardless, you need to take it slow; you now live in an RV and will definitely get to do all of it in due time. So, set some sort of limit for yourself regarding the maximum number of places you can visit in a month.

Constantly being on the move can take a toll on your mental health as well as your physical health if you’re trying to do everything all at once. You need to take care of yourself all-around mostly in the littlest of ways; get a gel memory foam rv mattress to improve your sleep quality and, take time to enjoy where you are while you recharge.

4. Pay off Debt

It is understandable if this is not a common tip, it’s not something people expect to hear in relation to #Vanlife. Nevertheless, if you want to ensure that your life is more enjoyable, you need to have your financial affairs in order. As much as possible, take care of most of your debts then, you’ll fully enjoy and embrace the freedom RV living offers you.

Even more, if you are still young and willing to work, consider remote work. It’s a great way to earn money while living your dream life.
