Llamas and tourists hike Machu Picchu together!
These cousins of the camel pretty much have the run of Machu Picchu.
The nimble buggers are everywhere, hiking side-by-side with visitors, stubbornly blocking paths and standing around looking pensive.
This guy had Veronica trapped in!
David, the llama whisperer, attempts to sweet talk him out of our way
As David laughs at the situation, another llama sneaks up and photobombs him!

I’d kill to take the place of the llama in the second last photo!
He did find a good spot.
Awesome! I’ve always wanted to hang out with a llama.
At Machu Picchu you don’t really have a choice. 😉
haha, they really do own that place
I love llamas! Your images are gorgeous and at times, hilarious 🙂 Thank you 🙂
So do we, thanks Mary.
As long as they don’t spit on you, you’re good. Talk to my husband about that incident. He is not a fan of the llama!
Luckily we missed any spitting.
The llamas are so cute! Love your pics. Machu Picchu is so on my list, llamas included 🙂
They almost seemed to pose for us.
Great photo. We’ve been to llama farms but have not yet gotten to Machu Piccu. We look forward to making that trek!
Thanks, it is definitely a bucket list place.
A lot of llamas lately (and that’s a lot of l’s!) – we did a llama trek at a resort in North Carolina this summer. My grandson loved it!
That is a lot of L’s Jan! 🙂
Ever heard the llama song? Google it.
