Have you ever thought how your wedding day will look? Most people imagine their wedding in their hometown, a traditional approach that can never fail. Some of them imagine a big party where all the relatives and friends are invited, all happening in the idyllic atmosphere of an expensive restaurant. But what if you get a little bit daring and choose something unique? A wedding is entirely related to what you and your significant other consider appropriate, so you should not think of methods to please the guests. This day is a reconfirmation of your declared love, reason why you should make the event yours from all existent points of view. Be rebellious and transform this big event into something unforgettable – choose a destination wedding.

Not all weddings should take place inside a church or other traditional location. Begin your new life as husband and wife outside, among quiet waves and fine sand. What could be more romantic than getting married under the light touch of a beach sunset? Wedding ceremonies that take place in exotic places grown in popularity in the past few years. This subject is no longer a taboo for young couples. Exchanging vows in a mesmerizing place will make you remember this day again and again, till death do you part. Here’s a list of ethereal locations for your future wedding:

Florida

Florida is popular as the host of most picturesque beaches in North America. The gentle waves and the low depth of Florida’s waters make it an amazing option for a beach wedding. One of the destinations that are often selected for exchanging vows would be Fort Myers, a city that combines a relaxed atmosphere, cheap resorts, top restaurants and an active nightlife. Florida is appropriate for couples who would like to immerse themselves in the rays of the sun and enjoy a wedding under the open sky.

Now, there are some details you might want to know about: where to get your marriage license, choosing a venue and who to invite. Since you need to travel all the way to the coastline, be careful when selecting your guests. The wedding will be much more intimate than usual, so bring your parents, your closest friends, the maids of honor and whomever you consider important. Your best man should definitely be present to hold his speech before your paths are united. Have them help you with organizing the wedding entirely.

The Caribbean Islands

Each island has sandy beaches that await you and elegant hotels ready to host your guests. The Caribbean Islands distinguish from any other exotic location. You can choose to organize the wedding in a tropical garden, a chapel, a yacht or even on top of a promontory. Hold the afterparty at one of the many deluxe villas in the area. No matter what you choose, the outcome will be a romantic, refined, and very elegant wedding. The perfect season for getting married in The Caribbean Islands starts in May and ends in August. Try Punta Cana, Aruba or Barbados for a genuine experience. Since transportation might get expensive, buy flight tickets for all of your guests beforehand.

Mexico

A traditional Mexican wedding is about delicious dishes and sunny weather. Mexico is more accessible than other locations and will give you plenty of opportunities regarding venues and restaurants. When thinking about Mexico, food and tequila are two elements that cannot miss, so if you want a wilder wedding, this is the place for you. The tropical climate and the colorful culture of Mexico are perfect for a sunny ceremony. Plus, you only need a tourist permit to get married in all locations of Mexico. Don’t forget about your witnesses and consider spending your honeymoon here as well.

Hawaii

Hawaii’s landscape will leave you breathless. The tropical climate, incredible beaches, gorgeous waters, and far-away volcanos attract millions of tourists each year. Hawaii would be the most suitable destination for a quiet, relaxing, yet exotic wedding. The incredible variety of flora and fauna create the superlative background for a wedding photoshoot. Beach weddings in Hawaii are quite common, the reason why getting married here is cheaper than usual. Thus, you can invest more money in after activities. You and your guests should try diving and snorkeling, visiting the numerous markets and bazaars or participate in the exuberant parades happening on the streets at night.

Considering all of the aforementioned locations, you can decide whether you are ready or not to step up the game and choose a destination wedding over a traditional one. If you are tired of seeing the same ceremonies over and over again, wedding guests you don’t even know or music that you listen to daily, an intimate, more exotic wedding can be the solution to your problems. The whole purpose of it is to remember its grandeur after years pass by. The decision is fully yours!

5 Tips to Make Your Next Trip Abroad Trip Easy on Your Pockets

Travelling is the most popular way to relax one’s mind and body. It is even more fulfilling when you get to know about a new place and its culture. However, travelling can be an expensive affair if you don’t plan it out properly, especially when you’re travelling abroad. Be it flight tickets or overpriced accommodations, travelling to an international destination is no doubt a challenging task to do on a limited budget. Most of the people, hereby, end up cancelling the trip, instead of finding ways to make it happen. If you, too, are planning your next trip abroad, here are few tips to make it economical and memorable, without compromising on the fun!

Buy Travel Insurance

This could be the last thing that comes to your mind while planning a trip. While some people consider this as an added monetary strain, others skip buying international travel insurance thinking that nothing will happen to them. When one single trip costs a bomb, buying travel insurance may seem like the final nail in the coffin. But, believe us or not, it is the most important point to consider while planning a cost-effective vacation. Travel insurance provides something that we often tend to ignore- the financial security against travel-related eventualities. To secure you during a medical emergency to trip cancellation, it travels with you, wherever you go. Apart from a medical crisis, an adequate travel insurance policy will cover you for loss of important documents like passport, delayed baggage, and even a trip cancellation that may cost you an arm and a leg. With an international travel insurance plan, you can remain stress-free from those unexpected expenses.

Make Off-season Your Companion

Let us justify this point. Choosing the off-season to travel is the most appropriate way to slash the cost of your overseas adventure. Whether it is London in Christmas or Las Vegas in Spring, every travel destination has a peak season when everything will be way more expensive. Therefore, it’s better to avoid the peak season.  A little research will help you find out the peak timings of a destination and ensure that you travel with your wallet feeling considerably heavier. Another option is that you can choose to visit those places which are comparatively less expensive such as Bhutan, Paraguay, Costa Rica rather than going to the USA, Canada or the clichéd European countries. These countries will allow you to enjoy your trip lavishly and spend less at the same time.

Plan Your Trip in Advance

Planning in advance is the key to taking successful financial decisions. Same goes for traveling. When you have decided on a next destination, do your homework properly, start from calculating the visa cost to accommodation, everything should be pre-planned. Exploring various websites while checking for a discount is necessary. While there is no right or wrong time to start your trip, planning, at least 2-3 months prior, will allow you to have sufficient time and avail the best deals available in the market.

Going for Alternative Accommodations rather than Hotels is a Good Idea

The many alternatives offering comfortable accommodations have gradually edged out expensive hotels. Alternatives such as bed and breakfasts hosted by locals, Airbnb and hostels are not as expensive and offer you the chance to mingle with likeminded travellers, so you can discover more and make new friends. These hostels or guest houses are, especially, easy economical while travelling alone. Furthermore, you will get to know the local culture of that place better.

Discounts are Always Welcome

Who doesn’t want to save a little something? While you’re planning a pocket-friendly vacation, you should check if the itinerary you have compiled can be explored at a lower cost. There are various tourism packages available, which offer discounts on the trip. Most of them cover major attractions of a particular destination including the travel price of getting there. This way you can uncover the various plans without burning a hole through your savings. Moreover, by opting for a travel agent, you can be tension free during your entire trip.

In a Nutshell!

If this is your first trip abroad, we hope these tips will help you plan the vacation efficiently. On a final note, make a check-list of the necessary things, a to-do list, the itinerary of the place etc. And finally, don’t forget to approach a good travel planner so that you can make your trip more enjoyable!

I’m retired now, but still active. And I’m using the opportunity of an “empty nest” to engage in some far-flung adventures and become a “world traveler.” Most recently, I toured the land of Israel – something I’ve been wanting to do for decades!

If you are considering a trip to the Holy Land as well, I can give you a few initial pieces of advice and then recommend what I consider the top 5 Israeli tourist stops.

First, explore you options as to private air charter flights to Israel. It makes the journey a lot more pleasant and less hectic. Second, check out some of these very helpful Israel tourist apps.

And third, be willing to strike out on your own and create your own itinerary rather than just stick with the pre-set tour schemes like so many of the other 3 million annual tourists do. It makes it a much bigger adventure and lets you prioritize the sites you want to see most!

Stop One: Jerusalem

“Next year in Jerusalem” was the annual Passover prayer of the Jewish people for some 1,800 years; and this city has long been a pilgrimage point for followers of the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths.

Holy sites huddled around the Temple Mount area in the Old City, such as the Wailing Wall (last remains of the temple of Solomon), the 4th-Century Church of the Holy Sepulchre (thought to be the site of Jesus’ empty tomb), and the 7th-Century Dome of the Rock (said by Muslims to be the spot Abraham offered Ishmael) are must-sees.

But also consider the Mount of Olives, walking the City Walls, exploring Hezekiah’s underground tunnel, and a visit to the Yad Vasham Museum for a somber reminder of the events of the Holocaust.

Stop Two: Tel Aviv

Don’t overlook Tel Aviv in your haste to see Jerusalem, for this largest of Israeli cities also has much to offer the tourist.

The 16 beaches that line its Mediterranean coast are the single biggest attraction, and walking the mile-long Telayet beach boardwalk is well worthwhile. Meanwhile, ancient Jaffa just south of town, the old port facility in town, and the original Tel Aviv settlement neighborhood of Neve Tzedek are of great historic interest.

And don’t neglect the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Diaspora Museum, the Palmach (military history) museum, or the many bustling markets scattered throughout the metropolis.

Stop Three: Galilee

Israel’s north is also a tourist hot spot, and for good reason. Lake Galilee, the northern reaches of the Jordan River, the ancient ruins of Bethsaida, Nazareth, and the Roman ruins at Caesarea by the sea are exciting attractions.

And the nearby Golan Heights are also full of both natural beauty and ancient historic sites of interest.

Stop Four: Port Eilat

On the south extreme of Israel is the Red Sea situated Port Eilat. From here, many go on cruises of the Gulf of Aqaba, explore the desert dunes on camel tours, scuba dive, swim, and sun themselves at area beaches, and interact with dolphins at Dolphin Reef.

Eilat is also the scene of numerous luxurious resorts, so if you’re into luxury travel, this is a must-do tourist stop!

Stop Five: Masada

Last but far from least, consider seeing the ancient Roman fortress of Masada in the wilderness of Judea near the Dead Sea. You can ascend the plateau on which it sits by foot or by cable car, and there’s a museum inside to peruse.

In the same area, many float in the salty Dead Sea or mask themselves with its therapeutic mud. And desert oases like the famed En Gedi also deserve a place on your list.

American law enforcement officials have developed many different types of legal procedures. These procedures have been developed over time in order to protect the public and the person who is being accused of a crime. One such procedure is what is known as bail. Bail is designed to allow people to stay out of jail until their case is heard by the courts. The aim is to avoid imprisoning people who have not been convicted of any crime. At the same time, officials also want to make sure they are fully protecting the public. Balancing the two goals typically requires the judge to consider many aspects of the accusations. This is typically done at a criminal bail hearing. If you are attending a bail hearing of this kind in St. Petersburgh, Florida, you’ll want to know what to expect. Working with William Hanlon St Petersburg Criminal Attorney can help you prepare for this important hearing.

All Floridians are entitled to have their case heard after an arrest. The judge must hear the case within twenty-four hours. This is what is known as a First Appearance. The goal here is to determine if there is enough evidence that would warrant keeping the person locked up. Judges are trying to determine if a legal standard known as probable cause exists. In response, state officials may argue that the defendant should be held without a bond because of varied factors. This includes a prior criminal record as well as the existence of a great deal of evidence against them at the present time.

Defendant Conditions

At this point in time, the judge will examine the evidence to see what case the prosecutor has right now. They are trying to figure out if the person qualifies for bail. They are also trying to determine what amount of bail might be set. This includes the person’s background, financial assets and ability to make bail. If the person does not have enough money to put for bail, they can work with a bail bondsman. However, this option can be costly. Bail bondsmen take ten percent of the money even if the defendant is later found to be innocent of the crime. Those who lack the assets to pay such funds can be at a serious disadvantage. This is why the judge wants to make sure they are not setting bail too high, especially if the evidence against the person is not strong.

In addition to determining the amount of bail, if any, the judge will also look at conditions that the defendant must meet in order to be released. These conditions are designed to make sure the person shows up for any further legal action. Conditions may vary depending on the defendant’s work history as well as their status in the United States. For example, people who hold another citizenship may be asked to give up both of their passports. A judge can impose other conditions as well. They can demand the defendant stay in the St. Petersburg area or not leave the state.

Legal Help

A person who is facing such accusations can have their lawyer ask for different conditions. They can ask for lowered bail because they do not have the funds they need or the money to pay for bail help. A person can also ask for the imposition of different conditions. For example, the person may need to travel out of state for business reasons or to see a child. They may also ask the judge to avoid imposing other conditions that can limit their mobility or ability to function each day. Skilled, hard-working lawyers can help with this important process.

David Writes!

The last task of raising a child is letting them go.

Allowing them to flap their cute little wings and fly… giving them a gentle nudge out of the nest to get them airborne. Ah yes, little birdies, spread your wings and fly.

OK, sometimes it’s more like a hard shove off a cliff… but then the harder transition from the parent-child to an adult-to-adult relationship must be made.

This process doesn’t happen overnight. The ritual sounds easy in theory, but it can be a bit sticky in practice. It’s difficult not to remain mommy or daddy, and even harder for the chicks not to revert back to being children.

Conversation is one of the biggest stumbling blocks during this process. Neither side has had practice speaking to one another as adults. It’s all too easy to return to the talking AT each other that dominated the teen years, not so long ago, instead of talking TO each other.

The filter that prevents us from saying things we might regret to our peers leaks like a sieve when family is involved. Then suddenly it’s right back to the old teenage shouting matches.

Physical distance can be helpful in this case. Not living in the same house removes several parts of the parent – child dynamic. The old “while you’re living in my house, you’ll live by my rules” answered by the “I’m an adult, you can’t tell me what to do” argument is certainly not the recipe for an adult-to-adult relationship.

Sure we miss our kids, but by not seeing them very often, our relationship has actually grown closer. It’s more of a special occasion when we do get to see them.

It also means we talk on the phone a lot. As a father, I’ve found phone calls with our girls, The Piglet and Decibel, much easier than with The Boy. The Piglet and Decibel are more open and nonchalant about what’s going on in their lives and we chat easily on almost any subject.

The Boy and I can talk like crazy about politics, religion and sports, the topics most people avoid when trying to prevent arguments, but not so much about personal stuff.

He can still get somewhat defensive about things — like I’m trying to grill him. Some of it is no doubt my fault, still sounding too much like the old “did you do your homework yet?” dad. Some may be that we haven’t had enough time apart yet.

A sure way to knock the legs out from under a fledgling adult-to-adult relationship is sticking one’s nose in where it doesn’t belong – especially when it comes to belief systems.

We instilled our moral code while raising them, our offspring know what we believe – continually knocking them over their heads with it while they are trying to figure out life does no one any good.

There’s an old saying that goes “Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” It’s important not to annoy the pigs. It’s a sure way to shut them off.

I want them to be comfortable enough to come to us for counsel, and they do. Relationships, bad bosses, fixing flat tires, culinary catastrophes – Veronica and I are the resident, non-judgmental experts. We listen, listen, listen and are mindful when we give out advice. We relish that role.

Our life experience sure comes in handy, we have helpful hints and we’re careful to let our kids know that — as much as we’d like to — we can’t fix their problems.

There is a delicate balancing act between hovering over every aspect of their lives and being there for them. Conversely, their asking for help or advice is quite different from them expecting us to support them financially.

We made it very plain to our kids BEFORE they left the nest, that we would not be their source of income once they finished school. My father did the same for me and I’m sure glad he did.

Knowing this ahead of time gave our Spawn time to plan, prepare and make arrangements… in other words, become adults. I think we were successful in conveying to them that they had to make it on their own while understanding that we will always be there for them if things ever get really bad – or when they just need to get something off their chest.

Up to this point, I can say that I am extremely pleased with the way the transition from our parent – child relationship has gone. Not only do we have three great children that are happy and successful, we have three new adult friends that we love like family.

The Low-Down on Travelling Down Under

Australia is a destination on almost everyone’s bucket list, but as the sixth largest country in the world there is plenty of it to see. If you’re planning a trip down under, here’s a quick run-down to help you get the most out of your visit to the ‘Great Southern Land’. CONTINUE READING >>

Australia is a destination on almost everyone’s bucket list, but as the sixth largest country in the world there is plenty of it to see. If you’re planning a trip down under, here’s a quick run-down to help you get the most out of your visit to the ‘Great Southern Land’.

It can be a big undertaking to handle all of the preparations for an adventure like this, so it is certainly worth taking a look at some pre-arranged holiday packages with everything taken care of ahead of time.

The big cities

While there are a few major cities in Australia you may want to visit, Sydney and Melbourne are the largest, with Brisbane the next largest yet significantly smaller than aforementioned.

With the majority of flights from the US arriving in one of these cities, there’s a good chance you get the opportunity to visit one of these metropolises and it’s well worth venturing out of the airport to experience what the cities have to offer.

Sydney, with its location surrounding the beautiful Sydney Harbour is home to the very iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, world-famous Bondi Beach and the breathtaking Blue Mountains, whereas Melbourne, which set on the shores of Port Phillip Bay, has a slightly milder climate for the most part of the year (with the exception of the summer months) and is best known for its cute city laneways and vibrant café culture.

The touristy spots

If you’re keen to see some of the popular tourist spots, there’s plenty to choose from.

The Gold Coast (in sunny Queensland only a short drive from Brisbane) is one you’ll most likely recognise, famed for its glorious weather, golden sand and beach-side skyscrapers that are somewhat reminiscent of Miami.

The worlds’ largest coral reef, the Great Barrier Reef, in far north Queensland is another major tourist drawcard. Spanning more than 1800 miles from Bundaberg to Cape York (the most northern tip of Australia), take your pick from staying on the mainland in cities like Cairns, Port Douglas, Rockhampton or Townsville, or get a taste of island life by visiting any of the beautiful Whitsunday islands.

If you want to get a taste of the ‘outback’, Uluru in the heart of central Australia is another iconic attraction. Previously known as Ayers Rock, Uluru is a large sandstone rock formation and sacred landmark for Australia’s indigenous Aboriginal people, which will give you a taste of the diverse topography of the country.

 The road slightly less travelled

You would need to dedicate a good couple of years traversing Australia to really experience all it has to offer, however if you want to avoid the big three cities and major tourist hotspots, Australia’s other major cities and surrounds are equally as impressive.

Here’s a quick run-down some other options to consider:

• Experience the ‘Top End’ by visiting Darwin. With its tropical savanna climate, it’s an ideal destination if you want to encounter your first crocodile or experience a very different culture to what you’ll find in Australia’s major cities. Make sure you pay a visit to either Kakadu or Litchfield National Park while there.

• Head west to Perth to experience a different side of Australia. Set on the banks of the Swan river, Perth is a neat and tidy metropolitan city with plenty of nearby beaches to enjoy. Make sure you pay a visit to Fremantle or make the trip south to Margaret River.

• Escape mainland Australia and head south over Bass strait to Hobart or Launceston in Tasmania. With a much cooler climate, these smaller cities allow you to experience a quieter side of the country. Filled with colonial architecture and loads of character, they’re also home to some delicious food. Make sure you also get to experience the breathtaking scenery throughout Tasmania, including a visit to Cradle Mountain.

Getting around

People always underestimate the sheer size of Australia, so it’s important you do some advance-planning to work out which destinations to include in your travels, as flying back-and-forth from city to city will become very costly very quickly.

Once you’re in a city, it’s relatively easy to get around whether you opt for taxis, public transport, car or minibus hire. Just make sure you’ve got the internet and maps on your phone, as you might find it a little difficult to find free wifi on occasion.

If the dream is to do some road-trippin, Australia has plenty of great road trips on offer—just make sure you plan your trip carefully and know where you can get a gas refill, as gas stations can be few and far between in some rural areas.
