Depending on where you are traveling from, New Zealand could take up to thirty hours! Make sure you pack some flight entertainment so you don’t get bored.

Iceland

This one really is an outdoor playground for everyone, often referred to as the land of fire and ice. Iceland is full of natural beauty and wonders to behold, from geysers to glaciers and volcanos. You can even hike through volcanic landscapes along with finding breathtaking waterfalls on your travels through Iceland. Iceland is also one of the best places where you can witness the Northern Lights. The best time to do this is between September and April, as it tends to be darker during these months.

Galapagos

You have never seen anything quite like the Galapagos Islands. They are home to many different forms of wildlife and sea life including tortoises and penguins. Due to a lack of natural predators, the wildlife in Galapagos are so unafraid of humans. This means you can get close encounters at the right time, if you are with a guide. When you visit Galapagos, you can find many opportunities for diving or snorkelling. There are a few great spots, just ask the locals or find a company to do this with.

Norway

When you visit Norway you won’t just be exposed to the outstanding natural beauty, but rich cultural experiences as well. Norway will always be on the bucket list of those seeking adventure and outdoor activities. If you love kayaking or hiking then you must take a trip to see the Geirangerfjord and the Nærøyfjord. Similarly to Iceland, here you can see the Northern Lights during the winter months. Believe it or not, if you travel to Norway between the months of May to late July then you can explore with 24 hours of daylight! That’s right, the sun never sets.

Peru

Here we have a country of contrasts, with breathtaking beauty, amazing food, and ancient history. Peru is home to two ancient historical sites, Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. Machu Picchu is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, so it is most definitely one to visit. You will never forget this, it really is unforgettable. You can notice a hint of the Incas everywhere in Peru, from the cobbled streets to the ruins. If you love food then the great news is, Peru often gets plenty of recognition from the World Travel Awards.

Canada

Canada is the second largest country in the world so there will no doubt be something for you to see while you are visiting. Whether this is a ski resort or heading to Niagara Falls, you will absolutely want to come back once your trip ends. There is just so much to fit into one trip, that you will be disappointed to leave. Make sure you know what you are doing while in Canada, book ahead so you know you have a place. Canada is home to many national parks, filled with glaciers and hot springs. You can even witness the Northern Lights in some locations.

Chile

If you need a reason other than geography to travel to Chile then we have plenty. Often known as the ribbon of contrasts due to its shape, it stretches along the coast of South America. You can visit Chile during the months of June, July, and August to find the best ski resorts in the Andes. If you prefer warmer temperatures then October to March is your best option. This makes the hiking trails great fun, and the heat isn’t unbearable so you can’t do anything. There are even places in Chile where you can surf or even do whitewater rafting, a wonderful haven for the brave and bold.

Australia

If you are looking for outdoor adventures then Australia is the place to be. It gives something for everyone including unique landscapes, natural wonders, and vibrant cities. You may have heard about their coral reef, only the world’s largest coral reef system which can also be seen from space. If you love diving and exploring then you should arrange a tour of the great barrier reef, you can see amazing sea life and vibrant colors. How about extending your trip and heading off to Vanuatu? Here you can head to a well known wreck and take part in the SS President Coolidge dive. This memory will last a lifetime and you may meet likeminded people who become friends for life.

Borneo

Lastly, if you have a love for animals and greenery then there is nowhere better than Borneo. You can even volunteer your services to conservation, creating amazing sanctuaries for Orangutans. They will be ever so grateful for your help in keeping them safe and well for a long time. If you love diving, then Borneo has some wonderful dive spots. Just make sure you head on out with a guide so you can find the best spots and not get into any trouble.
