Is St. John Expensive?

The very first thing you should know is that the beaches and the mountains of St. John are breathtaking! This island paradise is truly heaven From the beautiful white sand beaches to the clear blue waters, you will never want to leave this place.

What About Expenses:

Being an island, most everything must be shipped in which means there will be prices that can be a bit higher than you may be accustomed to but hey, it’s vacation time! Your stay at St. John Villa Rentals will be simply magnificent. Since food costs are most likely at the top of your list, you may want to think about putting together some of your favorite eats.

If you like, you can bring a knapsack;

    • Pack some cereal
    • Pack some granola bars
    • Something you like for breakfast on the beach
    • Make & pack some premade, prewrapped sandwiches
    • Make some home-baked loaves of bread or rolls and bring them along
    • Candies, cookies, little fruit pies, anything small and packable

Folks who’ve been there tell us to plan for around $154 a day but that depends on where you stay and what you do. Things to Do at St. John:

St. John is the smallest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean and there, the sightseeing fun never ends. Since the island is mostly forested, there is a lot to see so plan on packing binoculars, hiking boots, and your best camera. The Virgin Islands National Park covers over half the island and is home to seasonal birds from cuckoos to warblers and colorful hummingbirds. The mangrove trees located at Hurricane Hole sustain corals and anemones. In the clear blue waters live dolphins and hawksbill and green turtles.

If you do all of that on your first day on St. John, spend the second day on the water. St. John is the premier place for all things water.
