Best Time to Visit Khao Yai: Travel Tips and Highlights

Thailand is a country that has many attractions to offer. One of these is Khao Yai National Park, which is located in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima. If you are planning on visiting this park, there are some things you should know about it first.

The Best Time to Visit Khao Yai

Khao Yai National Park is open year-round, but the best time to visit this park is from June to October. The rainy season runs from November through May and during this time you can expect rain for at least two days each week. The dry season is from June through October when temperatures are lower and there’s less chance of rain than in other months.

When to Go

Khao Yai National Park is best visited during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During this time of year, it’s not uncommon for temperatures to reach up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) in the afternoon and nighttime lows drop down into the 60s (16-20 Celsius). The area does experience heavy rainfall during the rainy season (May-October), so be sure to pack your rain jacket.

The best time for a holiday or vacation depends on what you’re looking for. Do you want warm weather? Do you want cooler temperatures? Are there special events going on that month? Will there be crowds at popular attractions like Khao Yai National Park? These questions will help determine when exactly is “the best” time for your trip.

Stay at Marasca

Marasca is a great place to stay if you want to explore Khao Yai. The hotel is located in the city of Khao Yai, so it’s easy to get around on foot or by taxi. If you’re looking for an out-of-the-way experience, Marasca also offers some of its own nature trails and hiking opportunities within walking distance of your room.

Marasca offers both standard rooms and suites with different levels of luxury available depending on how much space you need. They all come with amenities like free WiFi access and satellite TV channels so that no matter where you are in Thailand (or even outside of Thailand), there’s always something interesting going on.

Best Activities in Khao Yai

Khao Yai National Park is a great place for hiking, bird watching and wildlife spotting. You can choose from several trails that range from easy to difficult so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of nature.

The park also has some waterfalls you can visit during your trip there. One of them is Nam Tok Huay Yang Waterfall which is located not far from Pang Sida National Park Office on Route 2169 between kilometre markers 58-59 or about 20 kilometres from Pak Chong town centre. This waterfall has several tiers and drops into a natural pool where you can swim if it’s hot outside.

Another popular attraction at Khao Yai is Thai Elephant Trekking where tourists get an opportunity to ride elephants through the dense rainforest while learning about their history as well as how they are treated today by mahouts (elephant handlers).

Conclusion

Khao Yai is a great place to visit at any time of the year, but if you want to avoid crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet then we recommend visiting in May or September. The weather is usually very pleasant during these months so you can explore all the sights without getting too hot or cold. If you’re looking for something more active though then February through April would be perfect as this is when most festivals take place.
