The 5 Most CBD-Friendly Cities in the U.S.

With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, the multi-purposed agricultural crop Hemp was removed from the federal government’s list of control I substances.

This meant that hemp—and all of the products derived from it—would be decriminalized and available for wide-use.

In the two short years since then, hemp has since EXPLODED onto the cannabis market scene, offering a non-psychoactive alternative to marijuana with a bevy of therapeutic benefits to go along with it.

Today, CBD oil is a popular derivative of hemp used by many to treat everything from depression, insomnia, anxiety, stress, muscle cramps, and chronic pain.

While CBD oil has been legalized in all 50 states, each state has its own laws and regulations regarding the distribution of CBD. Some embraced cannabis (both marijuana and hemp) in all forms by legalizing the substances recreationally in their states prior to the farm bill.

Others were more prone to drag their feet.

In short, these discrepancies have meant some cities are simply more CBD-friendly than others.

And if you’re in the mood for a little traveling—and of course, you are—here’s a shortlist of cities that have been down with the cannabis train before it was cool; states where even marijuana is legal recreationally.

Here’s a list of the 5 best CBD-friendly cities in the U.S…

5. Los Angeles, California

It’s hard to beat the draw of Los Angeles, California.

Let’s start with the obvious: it’s where Hollywood lives!

From your favorite television shows, movies, podcasts, albums, and comedians, a ton of great creative output happens right here in Los Angeles, and it has for years. If you’re a fan of old Hollywood, you’ll find a wellspring of history incorporating fascinating elements of cultural history from the city’s century’s old restaurants, theaters, and streets.

Aside from its historical and cultural significance, Los Angeles is surrounded by a bevy of geographic marvels that defy the laws of nature. In no uncertain terms, you’re a fan of the outdoors, within a two-hour drive of each other, you could literally snowboard in the morning and tan on the beach in the afternoon here in LA.

And that level of geographic diversity is frankly unheard of anywhere else in the U.S.

Although CBD is pretty widespread in California, there are still regulations on CBD oil being added to food (including pet food). With that aside, CBD products are widely available in a variety of forms including a variety of CBD vape pens.

4. Las Vegas, Nevada

Who doesn’t want to play for a bit in the sands of Sin City?

Known as the adult playground, Las Vegas, Nevada is a paradise for adults looking to find their own adventure, win big, and see some of the best entertainment on Earth.

In the spirit of comfort and fostering an atmosphere of pleasure and enjoyment, Las Vegas has also legalized the recreational use of all forms of Cannabis—CBD and THC. This means that you can grab CBD products from anywhere in Vegas, from the casinos to the convenience store.

And since Las Vegas has the potential to be a stressful place when the chips are down and you’re between hands, we recommend a little CBD oil to knock the edge off before you go all in!

3. Seattle, Washington

There’s a reason it’s called the “Evergreen” state.

And no, it’s not because they’ve legalized marijuana and hemp products recreationally, either.

Seattle is known for its natural beauty and breathtaking Pacific Northwest forests—lush with dark greens, browns, and voluminous foliage. Although these surroundings are certainly peace-inducing enough, the weather in Seattle can be a bit depressing as it rains for approximately 152 days of the year.

In times when you’re feeling a little more down than normal, we recommend adding a little CBD oil to your daily routine. Whether you want to add a few drops to your morning smoothie, or a couple puffs from a vape pen before bed, CBD can help keep you balanced out removing unnecessary anxiety and lifting depression.

2. Chicago, Illinois

Despite its nickname as the “Windy City,” Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in America. With many describing it as a cleaner version of New York, it’s easy to see why so many popular artists, writers, movies, and albums are about or created in Chicago.

It’s just a magical city.

What isn’t as magical however is the cold.

Chicago has gotten as cold as 27 degrees…below zero. So, if you’re planning on making a trip, pack a warm coat—or three—along with a hefty amount of CBD.

CBD oil won’t make you feel any warmer, but it’ll certainly help you feel better about being cold.

1. Detroit, Michigan

One of the last great American cities, it’s hard to surmount the cultural history of Detroit and its effect on pushing our cultural heritage. From the auto-manufacturing industry that created a huge swath of our current middle class, to the birthplace of soul music stemming from the grit, grime, and cold of the city’s streets, Detroit is a place of beauty.

Thankfully, Detroit continues to redefine itself after the shift away from auto-manufacturing, and has now come to embrace the cannabis industry.

With its recreational legalization of all cannabis products from CBD to THC, Michigan has become one of the eleven U.S. states to have completely legalized cannabis.

So, next time you’re listening to a little Motown and walking through the Henry Ford Museum, we hope you’ve got a little CBD in your pocket to enhance the experience.
