Got a Georgia Vacation on Your Mind?

If you’ve got Georgia on your mind, and you’re thinking of heading off to this wonderful southern state, then you might be wondering where to start because, of course, there is so much to do and see. Well, let me help you out, and ensure that you get more than Southern hospitality (there’ll be plenty of that) when you’re there.

Start Big in Atlanta

If you’re heading to Georgia, then you would be a fool to skip at least a quick trip to the state’s capital, Georgia. Why? Because it is a wonderful place where modern skyscrapers meet old-fashioned Southern charm. It is also a place brimming with history – check out the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park – a thriving hip-hop scene, and the place to get the best chicken and waffles you have ever eaten. Oh, and did I mention the hotels? apartment hotels in Atlanta, like the wonderfully luxurious Forth, are something else. You will experience every creature comfort imaginable (and a few more) during your stay, which makes it the place to be.

Savannah is the Queen of Southern Charm

After Atlanta, it’s time to slow things down and head to Savannah. This city is a feast for the senses, with Spanish moss-draped oaks, historic architecture, and a riverfront that’s perfect for people-watching. Walk the cobblestone streets of the historic district, take a ghost tour if you’re feeling brave (Savannah is known for its spooky past), and don’t miss Forsyth Park for a little green oasis in the heart of the city.

Savannah also has plenty of quaint B&Bs, boutique hotels, and charming inns that give you a real taste of the old South. This is a city where you can truly take your time, sip a sweet tea, and just let the charm wash over you.

Nature Lovers, Rejoice!

If you’re more of an outdoorsy type, Georgia has you covered. Head up to the North Georgia mountains for hiking, waterfalls, and even wineries (who knew, right?). Check out Amicalola Falls State Park for some breathtaking trails and a waterfall that’ll blow your mind. Or, if you prefer the beach, Tybee Island is just a short drive from Savannah and offers sandy shores and cozy beachside eateries.

Hit Up Georgia’s Hidden Gems

While Atlanta and Savannah get a lot of love (and for good reason), Georgia has some lesser-known spots that are absolutely worth the detour. Take a day trip to Blue Ridge, where you can ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway through the picturesque mountains or visit local art galleries and quirky shops downtown. Or, explore Jekyll Island, a coastal paradise with driftwood-strewn beaches, bike trails, and a sea turtle rehabilitation center that’s fun for all ages. These hidden gems offer a unique side of Georgia that goes beyond the usual tourist spots—and give you even more reason to fall in love with the Peach State!

Don’t Leave Without Trying the Food!

One of the best parts of any Georgia vacation is the food. Start your day with a fluffy biscuit or a stack of peach pancakes. For lunch, dive into some classic Southern BBQ or fried chicken, and if you’re in Atlanta, you absolutely must try some soul food. Mac ‘n’ cheese, collard greens, fried green tomatoes—your taste buds are about to have the best vacation of their lives.

Get Georgia off your mind, and into your reality!
