4 US Destinations Baby Boomers Should Visit

The population considers Baby Boomers to be seniors now, and more people want to retire at that age. If you’re a Boomer, you’ve probably worked for multiple decades, and you’re looking forward to relaxing. That might mean sitting around at home, reading books, catching up on TV shows, walking around your neighborhood, etc.

However, some Boomers want to travel, especially if there are some US regions they have not seen before. You probably should not do so while there’s a pandemic going on, but once there’s a vaccine and things calm down, you might make travel plans again.

Here are some cities you should definitely see if you have never done so before.

New York City

The first thing to mention is that if you’re going to drive, be careful. Some older adults are not the best drivers anymore, and you want to avoid rear-end collisions and other accidents.

NYC should be at the very top of your list. That’s because:

Crooners like Frank Sinatra have extolled New York’s virtues, and once you see those bright lights, it’s easy to see why. There’s nothing like standing in the middle of Times Square at night, the World’s Crossroads.

You’ll see every nationality and hear every conceivable language spoken. This city truly is a Melting Pot and the American Dream’s epitome. You have to see it at least once in your life.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas is another city that welcomes visitors. It’s the place where you can:

    • See magic shows and musical acts
    • Sample opulent buffets
    • Play many different casino games

Some people love Vegas, while some others find it garish. You have to see it at some point, though, if only to marvel at this adult-themed desert playground.

It’s delightfully glamorous yet sleazy at the same time. You can play high-stakes poker or craps, or head to a sportsbook and bet on an NBA or NFL game.

Whatever your pleasure, you can certainly locate it there. You can walk down the Strip in a Hawaiian shirt, holding a giant frozen drink, and no one bats an eye. Indeed, what happens there stays there.

New Orleans

New Orleans is another great city that’s well worth a visit. They have rebuilt in the years since Hurricane Katrina, and now it’s a sparkling Southern Gem.

You can enjoy live jazz in many different clubs every night. You can sample delicacies such as Po boys, gumbo, and jambalaya.

If Las Vegas welcomes the garish and outlandish, New Orleans might be its birthplace. If you go during Mardi Gras, you can witness debauchery of a sort you’ve probably never seen before.

You can deck yourself out in beads and wear any costume you’d like. Nothing is too shocking or over the top.

This is another city when you can carry your drink right down the street with you, and the cops won’t hassle you. It will make you feel young again till you might even consider moving there.

Los Angeles

If you love old Hollywood, you must see Los Angeles. You can eat a pastrami sandwich on rye at Canter’s Deli, or you can see where the original Brown Derby stood, where Clark Gable proposed to Carole Lombard.

You can go to Santa Monica and splash in the Pacific surf, or walk along the boardwalk and see the skaters and bodybuilders. The pier has some of the best tattoo parlors in the country if you’d like to get some ink.

You can see the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame and the enormous sign on the hill that you’ve seen in so many TV shows and movies. You could head to Dodger Stadium and sample a Dodger Dog, or maybe you’d prefer a Lakers or Clippers game.

There are some other great cities worth seeing that you’ll have to consider. You might want to head to Boston to have a Guinness and hear the indecipherable New England accent.

Maybe Atlanta is more your speed, where you can check out one of the country’s best zoos, or Miami, which has some of the best nightclubs, dining, and shopping.

Whether you’re into partying, dining, or cultural experiences, this country has so much to offer. You simply must see some of its more iconic cities if you’ve never been to them before. Make a list now, and you can start checking off these destinations once we have Covid-19 under control.
