When we look for a new place to visit we try to take a whole lot of things under consideration. As with real estate, location, location, location is always near the top of our list. Once we have agreed on that, we can start making plans for all of the exciting, adventurous, or relaxing activities to add to our itinerary.
Then we usually start looking for accommodations, and we always try to find someplace a little distinctive, a little unique, and a lot of fun. We like to look for a hotel is more than just a place to stay, sometimes it is an attraction in and of itself, and Marina Bayview Hotel is just one of those places.
We know this because there is so much to do at Marina Bayview that they offer something different from anywhere we can ever remember staying, a Day Pass in Gran Canaria. This means that we don’t even need to be staying at the hotel to partake in all of their incredible amenities.

The La Ballena Pool Bar is right there to quench your thirst, or even feed your hunger. That’s right, the day pass includes your choice of either breakfast or lunch right by the pool.
And this is not just any swimming pool, it is an infinity pool, so there is the sensation that the water could be flowing right off the edge of the world. Swimming the water while the water seems as though there is no end to the pool is pretty exhilarating. We highly recommend it.

And we are firm believers in the idea that us old married folks should try to make time to embrace fun as a couple, enjoy it, celebrate it. Have a blast so when we return home we are completely relaxed, refreshed, and ready to take on work or parenthood with renewed enthusiasm and energy.
We are also believers in the power of a cocktail while relaxing by, or even in, an infinity pool while taking in incredible sea views of the Atlantic. We can actually feel all the stress and pressure of day to day life back in the real world drifting away.
Just in case we feel the need to unwind even more, The Sunset Lounge featuring Jacuzzi and Bali Beds is just the place. There is even a sauna that offers a full panorama of the Atlantic ocean. Now this is what we call some proper pampering.
Of course, our idea of a vacation isn’t only focused on relaxation, we also like to explore when we travel. Marina Bayview Hotel is ready and waiting to help with that too. They can set up all sorts of excursions around the island.
We love hitting the nearby hiking trails, or renting and riding bikes, but taking a boat out on the ocean for some dolphin and whale watching is definitely our favorite. In fact, we even have a saying about it, “there’s no bad days when you are on a boat.”
