Im Irish but I live in Czech and I can sadly tell you that most hotels are of that standard, of course there are better ones, but they cost an arm and a leg, your breakfast looked good though, I stayed in a three star hotel in Brno,Czech rep. where for breakfast I was treated to 1 slice of bread and 1 triangle of foil wrapped cheese, when my husband asked for a 2nd portion of cheese all he got was a dirty look!! 🙂
This place wasn’t so bad, it claimed to be 3 stars (not sure who’s handing out the stars). It wasn’t all that cheap either, but you’re right, a lot less than other nicer hotels closer into town.

I worked in an insane asylum for 26 years and it looked better than that hell hole.
If you listen close you can hear me say “…like an asylum” while we are walking in the hall.
